Style Junkie Antiques A Journey Without An Ending

After a gratifying career in city government, a latent desire to live the life of an artist full-time is finally a reality. Years ago, I started buying vintage and antique furniture because I have always loved the design quality. Upscale design magazines featured beautiful and expensive products that were unaffordable. I discovered that many of the rooms included antique furniture and accessories. I would seek out some of the designs in local antique shops. Along with furnishing our homes, I began to collect investment antiques as a hobby. I planned to start selling when I retired.

Now retired, I can live my dream and give my full attention to providing quality home décor to my customers. I love beautiful furniture, porcelain, silver, and anything related to making an attractive and comfortable home. While collecting, I focused on antique china and tableware, a great area to find choices steeped in fine craftsmanship and unsurpassed quality.

Antique china is often overlooked. Many think of only grandmother's china with dainty flowers and fussiness. There is another category of antique china, and most people are unaware it exists. I want to show my potential customers that china was created for the upper classes.
The most skillful artisans and painters created stunning dessert sets, which were displayed in grand cupboards. It was a way for them to display their wealth.

The sets were large enough for grand entertaining. Over the years, some large sets survived while others did not. We are still finding the remaining pieces in numbers large enough for our families to enjoy. These specimens survived over the years with their beauty still intact.

We can now choose some of these remaining antique china patterns to express a variety of theme-related occasions for entertaining.

I decided to offer these timeless patterns to embrace color with classical styling. My customers like to entertain elegantly on occasion and need unique tableware to complement their homes' sophisticated style. My experience has revealed the value of antique tableware. The craftsmanship, beauty, and quality are unsurpassed compared to more modern-day specimens.

I was given the name "Style Junkie" by one of my antique dealer friends. The name stuck, and we decided it was perfect for my business. I will continue to be drawn to different styles and be open to the needs of my customers. I love being helpful and look forward to this new customer service chapter. I am now ready to meet the challenge of selling to a broader market, and Etsy is the perfect platform to help me reach my goals.
