Offered is a stunning antique English china set featuring 5 soup plates.
All feature a classic design including an aqua border.
Enhanced by embossed gold and silver gilding and a two-letter monogram "J" and "O'.
All pieces bear the circular garter-type belt mark with a crown above. This is the mark of William Fairbairns and Sons who was a partner with china and earthenware manufacturers, Hanley and Longton Stoke-on- Trent.
The quality of their china is right up there with Minton and Derby of the time period between 1863 to 1865. The beautiful gilding is extensive and engraved giving the overall design a neoclassical feel.
Family Heirloom.
MEASUREMENTS:
The soup plates measure 10 3/8 inches in diameter.
CONDITION:
The condition is excellent and appears to have been mostly displayed. No chips, cracks, or crazing.
There is minimal fading of a few gilt places.
Perfect for elegant occasions such as weddings because of its classic styling.
