Vintage Royal Worcester Turquoise Dessert Set: 5 Plates 2 Compotes Floral and Butterfly Design

Offered is a rare 7 -piece antique Royal Worcester dessert set manufactured in 1865. The pattern number is discontinued 7654.
There is a faint impressed mark that was used between 1863 and 1876 that further authenticated the age of the set.
The set includes 5 dessert plates and 2 cake stands, each featuring a vibrant turquoise ground covered with scattered floral sprigs and butterflies.
The striking design is enhanced by embossed scalloped rims trimmed in gilt.
The complete presentation has a contemporary feel and can be used in more modern tablescapes.
It does not have a traditional antique appearance, more whimsical and playful.
While the original use was for dessert, the size of the plates compares to today's luncheon plates.
The set is versatile and can be used alternately for salads or tidbits for luncheon.
The colors are still quite vibrant, and the set is in great condition for display or entertaining.
Everyday use is not advisable, but special occasion use is allowed.

MEASUREMENTS:
The five plates measure 8 7/8 inches in diameter.
The two cake stands measure 9 1/8 inches in diameter and stands 2 3/4 inches tall.

HISTORY:
The standard printed factory mark includes the number 51 in the center, which refers to the year 1751, when Dr. John Wall founded the Worcester Porcelain Company. The mark can appear in any color and on a variety of materials.

The marks almost always included a code to indicate the year of manufacture. From 1891 pieces were coded with a system of dots and/or symbols with the addition of the words "Royal Worcester England".
