MEASUREMENTS:
The plates measure about 10 1/2 inches in diameter and are heavy.
The platter measures 10X15 inches approximately in diameter.
HISTORY:
Thomas Grainger and Company began manufacturing porcelain in 1806 to supply the lower end of the market.
They were one of three porcelain makers for Worcester and continued production until 1902.
After their beginning, they soon became the competition for Chamberlain and Barr and Flight and Barr porcelain makers
at Worcester. The quality and skill of Grainger's craftsmanship are evident in the plates listed.
CONDITION:
Age-appropriate wear is evident, with a slight loss of gilt.
Two tiny rim chips on two plates.
The beauty of this rare set is still prominent.
The colors are quite beautiful. Overall excellent antique condition.
Great for farmhouse or cottage-designed themes.
