Offered are 10 antique Copeland Spode dessert plates with a matching serving dish.
The plates feature hand-painted floral nosegays scattered all over the surface.
The design is completed with embossed gilt design rims.
The border colors are blue with scalloped, gilded rims.
Added interest is presented with scattered floral nosegays.
The pretty design welcomes a gathering with liight dessert treats on a sunny day!
These plates are unsigned; however, the design elements and the notable quality strongly suggesttat they were manufactured by Cope;and Spode.
MEASUREMENTS:
The plates are 9 inches in diameter.
HISTORY:
From 1847 to 1970, the company was owned outright by the Copeland family and many times showed a variation of Copeland often used in conjunction with the Spode name on the back stamp.
From the late 1800s to 1963 impressed marks were used to date the pieces. A letter to indicate the month and 2 numbers to reflect the year.
CONDITION:
They are in great condition.
One plate has an under-the-rim chip.
