5 Antique Grainger Worcester pink dessert plates

Hand-painted gilded embellishments and center medallion.
These plates were produced when impressed marks were used often.
This impressed mark dates them sometime between 1870 and 1889.
MEASUREMENTS:
They measure about 9 1/4 inches in diameter and are heavy.
HISTORY:
Thomas Grainger and Company began manufacturing porcelain in 1806 to supply the lower end of the market.
They were one of three porcelain makers for Worcester and continued production until 1902.
After their beginning, they soon became the competition for Chamberlain and Barr and Flight and Barr porcelain makers at Worcester. The quality and skill of Grainger's craftsmanship are evident in the plates listed.
CONDITION:
These plates are in excellent antique condition with age-appropriate wear in a slight loss of gilt.
There are no chips, cracks, or crazing.
The beauty of these plates is still prominent.
The pink is quite beautiful.
