6 Antique Royal Worcester Botanical Dessert Plates, Crisp White Ground, Hand Painted Flowers, Scalloped Gilded Rims, Circa 1870

Offered is a rare 6-piece antique Royal Worcester dessert set manufactured in 1870. The pattern number is discontinued 7654.

There is a faint impressed mark that was used between 1863 and 1876.

The set includes 6 botanical dessert plates which feature a crisp white ground with a different hand-panted, enameled flower bouquet in the center.

The striking design is enhanced by scalloped rims trimmed in gilt.

The colors are still quite vibrant and the set is in excellent condition for display or entertaining.


MEASUREMENTS:
The 5 plates measure 9 1/2 inches in diameter.





HISTORY:
The standard printed factory mark includes the number 51 in the center, which refers to the year 1751, when Dr. John Wall founded the Worcester Porcelain Company.
The mark can appear in any color and on a variety of materials.
The marks almost always included a code to indicate the year of manufacture. From 1891, pieces were coded with a system of dots and/or symbols with the addition of the words "Royal Worcester England".

No chips, cracks , or crazing.
