Offered is a rare pair of antique Royal Worcester soup plates manufactured in 1865. The pattern number is discontinued 5660.
There is an impressed mark that was molded in the clay.
It was used between 1863 and 1876.
The pair features a vibrant pink border surrounded by white roped rims.
The design is accented with gilding.
The colors are still quite vivid and the set is in great condition for display or entertaining.

Two plates measure 10 inches in diameter.
HISTORY:
The standard printed factory mark included the number 51 in the center which refers to the year 1751 when the Worcester Porcelain Company was founded by Dr. John Wall. the mark can appear in any color and on a variety of materials.
The marks almost always included a code to indicate the year of manufacture. From 1891 pieces were coded with a system of dots and/or symbols with the addition of the words "Royal Worcester England".
