HISTORY;
Antique Davenport Porcelain (1794-1887)
This important Staffordshire factory was situated at Longport and run by John Davenport. Originally an earthenware pottery establishment, it began to make good-quality porcelain of hybrid hard-paste type c. 1800, and from about 1810 onwards, it continued on bone china tea and dessert services.

In the early part of the 19th century, Davenport produced products of superb quality, rivaling Spode, Swansea, and any other English manufacturer. The factory made some especially elegant Empire-style tea wares also.
Davenport porcelain body and decoration are of a very high standard and many unmarked pieces can be found incorrectly labeled "Rockingham".


MEASUREMENT:
The plates measure 8 7/8 inches in diameter.

CONDITION:
Excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
There is some slight fading of the gilding on the inner circle on four plates.
The plates are spectacular. The 5th plate does not have the impressed mark.
