Rare, pristine antique Davenport dessert set.
Blended botanical theme with five fruit plates and fruit compote.
Three floral plates and six floral demitasse teacup sets.
Extensive gilding and rounded scalloped rims.

Manufactured around 1820 according to the rare printed mark on the back.
The Davenport mark is on the back of each piece, authenticating the date of manufacture.

HISTORY;
Antique Davenport Porcelain (1794-1887)
This important Staffordshire factory was situated at Longport and run by John Davenport.
Originally an earthenware pottery establishment, it began making good-quality porcelain of a hybrid hard-paste type around 1800. From about 1810 onwards, it was content with bone china tea and dessert services.
In the early 19th century, Davenport produced products of superb quality, rivaling Spode, Swansea, and any other English manufacturer.
The factory also produced some exquisite Empire-style tea wares.
Davenport porcelain body and decoration are of a very high standard and many unmarked pieces can be found incorrectly labeled "Rockingham".

CONDITION:
Exceptional condition.
There is no evidence of damage or repairs.
No chips, cracks, or crazing.

DIMENSIONS:
The plates are 9 inches in diameter.
The compote stands five inches.
The saucer is 5 1/2 inches
the demitasse cups can hold three ounces of liquid.
