Offered is a rare and unusual antique Old Paris Cabaret teapot.
Its features are dramatic in the molded leaves on the finial, leaves, and spout.
It is heavily gilded in various designs on the leaves, handle, and body.
It is beautifully decorated and hand-painted in tones of medium blue and rose-pink panels.
A striking medallion of a bird is centered on both sides.
This well-designed piece was manufactured with great skill during the first quarter of the 19th century.
The gilt shows some fading, but the colorful images still remain vivid.
DIMENSIONS:
1 teapot. 5 1/2 inches tall w a lid
7 1/4 inches handle to spout
It can hold 8-plus ounces of liquid.
CONDITION:
The bottom rim of the lid has 2 chips that are not seen from the top, and the tip of one of the leaves is chipped. See photos.
The gilding shows noticeable fading, but the colorful images remain vivid.
Any piece manufactured during this period reflects age-related issues; however, in this case, these issues do not affect the teapot's beauty and stability.
Please wash by hand and no microwave for the best of care.
