The first plate offered has a pierced and molded foliated scroll edge and rim surrounding a hand-painted landscape countryside view of the English Lake District. It is marked on the back in red "Derwent Water"
The view is after the steel engraving (or its source), entitled Le Lac de Fervent dans le Cumberland, published in a volume of L'Univers.
The other plate has a hand-painted landscape scene that is complementary but not titled on the back.

The set is rare because it is attributed to H & R Daniel during the time period between 1822 to 1846
Only a small volume of products was produced during this time period, which adds to its rarity.
The craftsmanship and quality are comparable to the work of other major manufacturers of the period.
These plates were manufactured circa 1842.
Heirloom quality.
