1820 Chamberlain Worcester Floral Dessert Plates: Pale Yellow Border Gilded Gadrooned Rims

Offered are four rare Chamberlain Worcester dessert plates manufactured in 1820.
They are decorated with gadrooned rims broken by scalloped shells and accented with elaborate gilding.
The border is in a soft, pale yellow.
The manufactured date of 1820 adds to their rarity and timeless quality.
I would not hesitate to use them for selected special occasions.
It would add to the status of the occasion and give your guests a sense of their historical prominence.
Pass them down as a family heirloom.

HISTORY:
Chamberlain Worcester was one of the porcelain makers at the Worcester factory.
Thomas Grainger and Company began manufacturing porcelain in 1806 to supply the lower end of the market.
They were one of three porcelain makers for Worcester and continued production until 1902.
After their beginning, they soon became the competition for Chamberlain and Barr and Flight and Barr porcelain makers
at Worcester. The Chamberlain's quality and skill of craftsmanship are evident in the plates listed.



CONDITION:
The plates are in good antique condition with some age-related issues.
One plate has two small chips shown in the photos.
There is a small amount of crazing and fading of the gilding.
Otherwise, in stable condition.
They are best used for display; however, I would use them only in special circumstances.
Please hand-wash for the best care.
