$1,200.00
19th-century English porcelain tea set.
Featuring service for four.
This includes the teacups, coffee cups, and the matching saucers.
The skill of seaweed design is an outstanding feature that is done entirely in gilding and is challenging to apply.
Family heirloom.
The design resembles the Neoclassic style with a prominent gold seaweed design and deep rose border.
The design is finished with a gold medallion in the center of the tea plate.
The set is stunning and would complement more sophisticated aesthetics.
MEASUREMENTS:
Four tea plates 6 7/8 inches
Eight saucers. 5 3/8 inches
Four teacups. Three inches Tall, 2 5/8 inches at the mouth. 5 ounces
Four coffee cups. 2 7/8 inches Tall, 2 3/4 inches at mouth, 4 ounces
Though no maker's mark can be found, the set is superb quality and craftsmanship and could be Minton or even Coalport.
I have seen a similar set attributed to John Rose, a prominent and skillful artist with Coalport.
The most skillful painters were used to execute this pattern and apply the paint consistently.
Be assured of the timeless quality of your purchase, which will endure.
